Why Buy a Portable Generator?

Portable electric generators provide backup power when the regular supply of electricity is interrupted. Commercial establishments and homes will suffer when the power supply cuts out.

A portable gas or diesel generator can become an invaluable asset in the following situations:

• Disasters and emergencies – Most people invest in a portable generator with catastrophes in mind. Areas that are prone to hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters are likely to lose electric power at times. Having a portable electric generator could make the difference between life and death, especially in times of extreme weather conditions such as freezing cold or sizzling heat. Portable generators are critical for people with health conditions that need uninterrupted support from medical devices that are powered by electricity.
• Power outages – Power outages are unavoidable, no matter how the power company maintains its facilities. An accident or a natural disaster could topple transmission lines, or lightning could hit a transformer. Power company crews will immediately service the affected areas, but it could take time, depending on the severity of the problem. The temperature inside homes could become unbearably hot or cold, depending on the weather. If it is hot, food in the refrigerator and freezer could spoil.  A portable generator can provide the necessary power to keep essential appliances and devices running until the regular supply of electricity is restored.
• Outdoor events – Portable generators are not only for emergencies. They may also be used for recreation and entertainment in areas that are not connected to the regular power grid. People may conduct athletic competitions or concerts in areas that are far from regular power lines. Power could be sourced from portable generators that may be easily transported.

Portable generators may be a significant expenditure up front, but they just may be your best investment in times of need.
