Video: How to Reset the Maintenance Alarm on a DeepSea Control Panel

Managing and resetting the maintenance alarm on a DeepSea control panel is an essential task for ensuring the operational readiness and longevity of your generator. Depending on the configuration of the module, the maintenance alarm can be activated according to a configurable schedule and may present itself at different levels of urgency, ranging from a simple warning, where the generator continues to run, to a complete shutdown, preventing the generator from operating. Here is a guide on how to reset these alarms.

What are Maintenance Alarms on a DeepSea Control Panel?

Maintenance alarms are typically set based on the engine’s operational schedule and are designed to alert operators when maintenance is due. These alarms can be:

Warning Alarms: Allow the generator to continue running but indicate upcoming maintenance needs.

Shutdown Alarms: Stop the generator from running, indicating an immediate maintenance requirement. Resetting these alarms is usually the responsibility of the site service engineer or technician after the necessary maintenance has been performed.

Methods for Resetting the Maintenance Alarm

Here are three approved methods for resetting the maintenance alarm on your DeepSea control panel:

1. Provisioning an Input: This method involves activating an input that has been pre-configured for “Maintenance Reset.” It’s a direct hardware interaction that sends a reset signal internally.
2. Using DSE Configuration Suite Software: A certified technician can connect to your control panel and use the DSE Configuration Suite software for a software-based reset. They will navigate to the ‘Maintenance’ section and press the maintenance reset button to clear the alarm.
3. Manual Reset via the Front Panel: To manually reset the alarm through the control panel, power up the unit and navigate to the desired Maintenance Alarm status page. Press and hold the ‘Stop/Reset Mode’ button for about ten seconds. Note that this method may be protected by a PIN number to prevent unauthorized resets.

Why Do You Need to Reset the Control Panel’s Maintenance Alarm?

Resetting the maintenance alarm is an essential step in maintaining the efficacy and reliability of your generator. Whether the alarm indicates a warning or a shutdown, understanding how to reset it ensures that your generator remains in optimal working condition. By following one of the aforementioned methods—whether through a pre-configured input, software, or manual intervention—you can effectively manage and reset your maintenance alarms.

Maintaining regular checks and understanding the control panel’s functionalities are key to preventing disruptions and ensuring that your generator is ready to perform when needed.
