Because of their durability, reliability, and long life, diesel generators are the preferred generator type for standby and emergency power supply systems worldwide. A diesel generator can start operating and assume the electrical load in less than 10 seconds of a power outage.
Americas Generators carries a wide selection of different diesel generators in its inventory, with Cummins being one of the top brands. Cummins generators are recognized worldwide for their rugged dependability, both for mechanical and electrical performance. Cummins diesel generators can be counted on by utility peaking plants, distributed generation facilities, and commercial and industrial sites.
Americas Generators offers several models of Cummins diesel generators. The Cummins Engine Model # 6BT5.9-G2 is a best-seller.
The Cummins Engine Model # 6BT5.9-G2 offers the following important benefits:
- Durable engine with low operating costs
- Quick start up

It can monitor under speed and over speed, charge failure, low oil pressure, emergency stop, high engine temperature, and other problems that may occur in the generator unit.
The fault conditions are displayed on the LCD screen and through the LED indicators on the machine’s front panel. The module can be electronically linked to a PC, send SMS messages, and interface with any building management system.
The generator unit has a 60 Hz power rating, a standby power rating of 125 kVA /100 kW, a prime power rating of 110 kVA /90 kW, and an optional single phase (available for $500.00).
