Standby generators are designed to keep home lights and appliances running in the event of a power outage. The switch from the regular power source to the emergency source occurs automatically in order to avoid any interruption of the power supply that will inconvenience home dwellers and put stress on appliances.
Hooking up an emergency generator to the power line takes a lot of time. Monitoring the generator is also time consuming because someone has to keep an eye on the control panel to ensure that the generator is working well. Fortunately, technology has helped clear these hurdles, and it is easier than ever to use a generator.
The generator industry has developed a new way of hooking the home up to a standby generator in the event of a power outage. Direct Power Installation Technology is the fastest and most affordable generator installation technology available in the industry today. It shortens the time to install an emergency generator by as much as 60 percent. Traditionally, installation time averages about 10 hours. With Direct Power Installation Technology, installation time is reduced to about three hours.
The task of monitoring the performance of an emergency generator is easier and more convenient with the InfoHub Wireless Monitoring system. Instead of manually checking the control panel, InfoHub allows you to monitor the performance of your generator in the comfort of your home, using your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Another challenge that you may face with a generator is power distribution. Power may not always be delivered evenly to different parts of a home. With such instability in the power supply, some of the appliances may get enough electricity and some may not. One solution to this problem is the Symphony Power Management system that spreads electricity to high-wattage appliances in an even manner.
We approach a new year with excitement about continuing advances in the power industry.
