A commercial diesel generator works by converting the energy stored in diesel fuel into mechanical energy, which is then used to generate electrical power. An industrial diesel generator consists of several main components including a diesel engine, alternator, fuel system, cooling system and control panel.

The energy produced by a diesel commercial generator is then used to power a wide range of electrical devices in commercial and industrial applications.

The cost of an industrial diesel generator can vary greatly depending on several factors, such as the generator’s power output, brand, and features. Generally, industrial diesel generators can range from several thousand dollars to several hundred thousand dollars.

For smaller residential or commercial diesel generators with a power output of around 15-30 kW, the cost may range from $10,000 to $25,000. For larger industrial diesel generators with a power output of 100 kW or more, the cost can range from $40,000 to $450,000 or more.

Additional factors that may affect the cost include the commercial generator’s fuel efficiency, noise level, and emissions tier rating. Industrial Diesel Generators that are more fuel-efficient, produce less noise, and have lower emissions may cost more than less efficient models, meaning, a Tier 4 Final Generator will cost significantly more than its Tier 3 or Tier 2 counterpart.

The size of industrial diesel generators can vary greatly, depending on the specific application and power requirements. However, some of the largest diesel generators in the world can generate several megawatts of power. 

Utilizing paralleling packages, two or more industrial diesel generators can be combined to reach the required megawatts for the application.
